Mast cells were the predominant cell type in AERD and CRSwNP expressing ALOX5, ALOX5AP, LTC4S, and GGT1-genes encoding for enzymes involved in cysteinyl leukotriene production. CYSLTR1, the gene encoding a primary receptor for cysteinyl leukotrienes, was also prominently found in mast cells. Genes encoding for COX-1 (PTGS1) and COX-2 (PTGS2) were most abundant in mast cells.Clusters were annotated on the basis of expression of the following canonic genes KRT5 (basal epithelial cells), KRT8 (apical epithelial cells), LTF (glandular epithelial cells), FOXJ1 (ciliated epithelial cells), COL1A2 (fibroblasts), ACKR1 (Endothelial cellss), CD79A (B cells), TRBC2 (T cells), HLA-DRA (myeloid), and TPSAB1 (mast cells) |
