| Evidence | One of the most highly upregulated genes was Ly6a, which encodes Sca-1, a surface protein that is associated with proliferative cells but is not present in Humans. Therefore, Sca-1 was a useful marker of crypt cells responding to H. polygyrus-driven epithelial disruption. |
