Evidence In addition, as illustrated in Figure 5A, we identified a fraction (4.7%_5.0%) of intestinal venous ECs (identified by expression of the venous EC marker Bgn), which exhibited enriched expression of high-endothelial venule (HEV) markers (Madcam1, Lrg1, Ackr1) (Kashiwazaki et al., 2003; Saito et al., 2002) (C6 and SI5 in Figure 3; Figure S5A), representing a specialized subtype of ECs adapted for recruiting/trafficking of lymphocytes from blood to the tissue interstitium
