The cell cluster identified as rod-like photoreceptors show high expression of exorh (exo-rhodopsin), the pineal specific opsin [S1], as well as rods transducin protein subunits-encoding genes, gnat1 (guanine nucleotide binding protein, alpha transducing activity polypeptide 1) and gngt1 (guanine nucleotide binding protein, gamma transducing activity polypeptide 1) [S2]. The cell cluster identified as retinal-pigment epithelium like express agrp2 (see main text). The cell cluster identified as Muller glia-like express the classical markers of Muller glia, clu (clusterin), vim (vimentin) and Dkk3b (dickkopf WNT signaling pathway inhibitor 3b) [S3]. The cell cluster identified as macrophages/microglia express the microglia markers, apoeb (apolipoprotein Eb) and cd74a [S4]. The cell cluster identified as neurons express neuronal markers such as elavl4 (elav like RNA binding protein 4/huD). The cell cluster identified as cone-like photoreceptors express the cones transducin protein subunits-encoding genes, gnat2, gngt2a and gnb3b (guanine nucleotide binding protein, beta polypeptide 3b) [S2], as well as opn1lw1 (opsin 1 longwave-sensitive 1), the cone red-sensitive opsin [S5]. One cell cluster express genes that are involved in diverse cellular processes, and therefore we simply termed this cluster as ‘cluster 4' |
